Historical Background
In the mid-1990s, the Jazan Energy and Development Company Corporation decided to implement a strategy to expand its business and double its output value in the Jazan region by investing in aquaculture. At the end of 2002, the company started an aquaculture project as planned in the Village Al Sawarimah, 40 kilometers south of Jazan
Geographical location
Jazan is considered to be one of the areas with the richest fishery resources in the southwestern part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is close to the Red Sea.
The shrimp caught in this are a boasts delicate flavor and good texture. There are many reasons for this: There is no pollution from large factories on Jazan’s beach,so the sea water in this area is pure and the climate is stable. Therefore, the temperature of the seawater fluctuates between 25-36 degrees Celsius (77-96 degrees Fahrenheit) for the whole year. It is most suitable for shrimp farming
Quality
The project has obtained the qualification certificates required for fresh shrimp farming, covering all stages from hatching to export. And all stages and production lines are directly monitored by the supervisory authority in real time. In order to meet the highest world standards, our specialized laboratories have performed random testing of fresh shrimp samples. Our laboratory has been accredited by the Saudi Arabian Standards Organization and the Saudi Food and Drug Administration (SFDA). Project Description
The shrimp breeding project consists of a comprehensive hatchery that can hold more than 500 million larvas and has a breeding area of about 2933 hectares. The target shrimp production is 3300 tons per year. There are 160 shrimp breeding ponds, and a processing plant with a processing capacity of 14 metric tons per day. Equipped with comprehensive engineering supporting services and the state-of-the-art equipment, the project also settles the management and service facilities for 300 employees to meet their living and entertainment needs. The project is currently 40% completed, and the figure below shows the total capacity based on the plant’s current operating capacity
